The Biology of Plants

~ Love the Plants. //

About

"The Biology of Plants is literally that. The manifestation of biologically sound vibrations. An experimental trip into the sphere of natural textures and the cyclical nature of planet earth. You can run, but you can't hide."
(Santa Rosa Records, TEXAS)

“TBoP writes songs based on and inspired by plants and aims to incorporate their instrumental virtuosity by "overcomplicating even the simplest of melodies to create something larger.. much like a blossoming flower as it reaches its peak of existence." (GRAIN Magazine, AUS).

// TBOP is an Australian-based neo-classical-alternative-rock-outfit, with music solely inspired by plants and elements of jazz, classical and electronic artistry. Featuring Helen Svoboda (bass guitar/effects/vox), Joshua Rivory (synthesiser/keys), Simon Svoboda (cello) and Charles Hill (drums), their sound combines the harmonic richness of the likes of Sigur Ros and Arvo Part, the quirkiness of Phillip Glass and the rhythmic complexity of Tigran Hamasyan. The compositions are solely inspired by nature, simulating a live film score amidst a state of spacial ambience.

// Following the success of their debut EP ‘Vol 1.’ (released through Brisbane label Supersonic Records in Feb 2018), TBOP has played headline shows at a range of venues in Brisbane, including art galleries, boutique bars, rock venues and community arts showcases, building a strong following within the Australian community due to their unique musical approach.

// Helen returns from the Netherlands in June 2019 to launch their long-awaited second album Vol. 2, amidst a series of quirky video releases to occur in the interim.
